Available via iTunes.

BTW: Everyone who uses my iPod touch (and I mean everyone) says they
are going to get one, or get an iPhone.

148MB for an iPod update? Are they replacing the whole system or what?

Especially as it didn't seem to have restarted when it applied it. Well,
I was out of the room when it finished, and the ipod is sitting at the
battery 'slide to unlock' screen (everyone is impressed by the battery
icon!) and iTunes said that my software was up to date.

When I looked in settings->about on the iPod it said version 1.1.1
No exciting new features then!

No Calendar + icon yet :-( Bug fixes. Hopefully a less crash prone
Safari.

I was hoping you were going to say it was the calendar option being
added :( mine has finally shipped and I can not wait. Do you know if
.mac mail now works in safari  ? could that be part of the fixes ?

I've just sent a test email from the touch from .Mac. Seemed to work
okay.

Cool that must have been part of the fix. Apparently they have tried to
fix the dark video also. I can not wait to get mine :)

.Mac's webmail is probably far too clever to work on a small screen -
loads of "AJAX", dragging and dropping, and so on. It behaves quite a
lot like Mail.app, and that wouldn't be a good UI on a Touch.

Cheers,

Same with yahoo on certain browsers, but if it finds that your browser
cant cope it degrades to the old type.

I expect Apple didn't attempt to downgrade the "experience" at all,
which is amiss of them. It is quite impressive how much like Mail.app
they made it work, even though you could never mistake it for using a
local app.

Easy enough to do really. The really hard work is making something
flashy that degrades well on less capable machine, so I think yahoo win
that one.
Mind you, they also publish all their ajax and javascript widgets for
free use, so I guess they need to make them good.
