Installation of Mac::Growl fails

Hi y'all,

After lurking for over two years it seems to be the time to uncloak and
ask a little question.

I was trying to install Chris Nandors Mac::Growl on my Dual 1.8
G5/Tiger, Perl out of the Box.

> cpan install Mac::Growl

gives me the following errors:

argument 1 for message "iconForFile:"
**** ERROR **** PerlObjCBridge: error sending message iconForFile: at
/System/Library/Perl/Extras/5.8.6/darwin-thread-multi-2level/PerlObjCBridge.pm
line 230, <DATA> line 1.

Doing a 'traditional' install (perl Makefile.pl...) yields the same result.

Google (web/newsgroups) and the macosx-archive didn't make me any wiser.
Maybe you can point me into the right direction.

I've not touched Mac::Growl in awhile, and I never wrote the original
PerlObjCBridge code. So offhand I do not know what the problem is, but this
might give you some clues:
