I'll try to keep this as short as possible.

I have a modem box, dsl cable and an Airport wireless connection. I was
having trouble
connecting this morning. I called AT&T support and made the mistake of
following the
rep's advice. He had me change network settings and a password on the
AirPort Utility.

Now when I try to launched AirPort Utility, I get this message:

"Airport Utility was unable ot find any Apple wireless devices. Please
make sure the
Apple wireless device you want to set up is plugged in and in range of your
computer, and then click rescan to try again."

It is plugged in. It is in range. But everything is grayed out in
Airport Utlity -- Manual setup, restore default
settings and so forth. It just keeps telling me it can't find any
wireless devices.

I also tried pushing the reset button on the Airport Express.

I'm seeing my neighbors' internet connections when I check Airport
itself. It's just mine
that is missing. If I connect directly from my modem to my computer, I
connect OK.

I think I could figure out how to reconfigure if only it could find my
wireless device. Any ideas?

Thank you.

Try pushing the reset button on the Airport Express while it is
unplugged, then plug it in while holding the reset button down, and keep
holding it until the green light flashes.  That should reset the AE to
factory default.

Ah, thank you! That did the trick. You just saved me a service call. :)

By the way, that trick is in the AE's instruction manual.
