Hi all, I've seen online that you can get base stations for your apple
- that allow you to extend the range of wireless that you are providing
to others.  But what about the opposite.  My house-mate has set up a
wireless access point in his room.  And my other house-mate and I would
like to get better reception from it.  I have a small 3 inch antenna on
the back of my G5 (looks like a T bar) - can I get an antenna that
would allow it to get physically closer to my roomate's room?

Yes. You can get a non-Apple external antenna with a cable that will fit
the connector on the back of your G5 and allow the antenna itself to be
positioned for best reception. If you just want to connect to that one
base station, a directional antenna is the best solution. Getting your
antenna and your housemate's access point up above most of the furniture
should also help reception, but you'll need to experiment with
locations.

Below are some sources of Mac-compatible antennas.
