I finally persuaded my aunt to use BCC when forwarding messages to
groups of people. She uses AOL, but can't figure out how to use BCC;
she says she can't find it on her system.
I don't have AOL, so I can't check myself. Can anyone here help?
Thanks,

I believe that you use the CC field but the BCC addresses are placed
in parenthesis.
Or, load Netscape and set up the AOL mail there and use its mail app
to access AOL mail. It is possible.

I'll suggest that to her.

That is probably beyond her; she's using AOL for a reason, y'know.
*sigh*

Michelle-
When adding addresses to a message using the AOL Address Book, there are
three choices on the right side of the window: Send To, Copy To and Blind
Copy. She would click on a name and click Blind Copy to add that name to
her message's address window.
If she changes her mind about what kind of copy she wants, she can click
on the To:, cc: or bcc: beside an address in the message's address window,
and select the copy type she wants there.
I think there is a way to set up a group so you only need one entry in the
address window, but I've never tried it. That could be where she has her
problem selecting bcc.

When you create a new message with AOL, it defaults to To, of course,
but if you click on To you get a menu that also includes CC and BCC.

How can you change a bunch of addresses to BCC without having to change
each one individually?

I couldn't figure out how to do that, so I'll answer a different question!
Go to the Address Book. At the bottom of the window, click on Add Group
and give the group a name.
Drag addresses from the Address Book window to the Add Group window. When
you have it the way you want it, click on Save.
Then, when mailing to that group, go to the address book. Single-click on
the group name and click on Blind Copy. That adds all of the selected
names to the message's address window as bcc.
Does this help?

Thanks. I'll pass it on to my aunt.
