I notice on the cingular website ( I have my cell phone service with
them) that they support wireless modems. They support two cards, the
Sony Ericsson GC83,and the Sierra Wireless Aircard 775 EDGE PC Modem.
The list PeeCees as having support but I wonder if anyone has managed to
get these cards to work with OSX

Nova Media Systems of Germany(www.novamedia.de) has a product called globe
trotter which is a PC-card which works with multiple systems including UMTS.

It is for mac.

What Cingular phone do you have? You may not even need a wireless modem.

(Ask me how I got my iBook talking to my Motorola v551 cell phone to surf the
net wirelessly...)

I have the cingular wireless GC 83 card and the software QuickLink
mobile. I can get it to work sometimes but it disconnects and sometimes
wont connect at all. I have a powerbook G4. If you find a software that
works for you let me know. But cingular wont give you much help on it.
Their tech. support said that they didnt have any documentation on PC
carrs working with mac, the person that I talked to just happened to
know about the QuickLink software. When everything works it is really
pretty good.
