I had deleted my Thoth preferences to maybe cure the whole newsreading
thing. Now that I am up and running again, I have a question about some
preference settings.
Before, if I went into a group, say, alt.binaries.mac.applications, I
would see an item with a count of 16. Now I see the same thing, but
there are 16 individual posts to download instead of just one large
one. There must be some setting that I have missed or something.

Any help would be appreciated!

Are all the items displayed in this manner or only some? I've noticed
that some posters post mulit-part binaires as individual parts.

Well, unless everything changed within the past 2 or 3 days, it is in
everything newsgroup that I am looking at.

You might simply have threading turned off.
While you have the article list in focus
View->thread by reference

That's probably too obvious, but just in case.
The binary parts are always separate posts. The 16 you saw was simply
the count of articles in the thread.
