Netgear WG511T wifi card and PowerbookG4/Tiger ?

I could have a bargain on the Netgear WG511T wifi pcmcia card. Will I be
able to use it on my Powerbook G4/800 (no airport) under Tiger ?
The Netgear site gives only compatibility with Windows :-(

Since the manufacturer does not provide Mac drivers to download, the only
chance it could be used would be if drivers were available from some other
source.

If it happens to use the right chip set, it might be recognized by the Mac
as if it were an Airport card. I don't think it is likely, but you would
have to try it to be sure.

There was a company mentioned here in the past, that sold a Mac driver for
some PCMCIA wireless cards. There was also a web site mentioned, that
listed brief reviews of different wireless hardware verses Mac
compatibility. You might do a Google search for Macintosh Wireless and
see what you can find.

I've used a NetGear Card in my PowerBook for years - with the IOXPerts
$19.95 wireless driver - works fine with a mix of Airport/Belkin stuff.
