I am looking for a Telnet capable terminal program for the Macintosh.   I
have played around with Telnet and Better Telnet clients but do not find
them to my liking.   I would prefer something similar to Zterm but supports
telnet connectivity.

On Mac OS 9, I was a BetterTelnet user, but there were others.
On Mac OS X, I use Terminal and iTerm

If he's using OSX I'm hard pressed to understand why he's not simply
using Terminal.app.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

Databeast's Datacomet is great IME. Runs on OSX or classic MacOS great.
I use the classic version to SSH or Telnet into my OSX Macs.

I second the DataComet recommendation.

You did not say what terminal type you want to emulate.
If you need Wyse emulation, try MacWise
www.macwise.com
It works with telnet or ssh or serial.
Also has emulations for VT100, VT220, Viewpoint and others.
Programmable function keys and Applescript supported.
