I've visited

http://www.tentcot.com

several times in the last week. Today when I tried I get a page with the
messsage

  Directory Listing Denied

This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.

This happens with Netscape, IE and Opera. I've never seen this before
but on the surface it would appear the server at that end, for whatever
reason, is restricting access to the site. I can get to the site via the
backdoor by Google's cached page but if I try to follow any of its links
around I get a server error.

Perhaps tentcot.com is temporarily denying access to its site???

If "the default page" doesn't appear in a particular directory in a
web server's content it will display a directory.  Unless, as you saw,
"Directory Listing Denied".  This harkens back to the halcyon days
when the web was used to share information rather than to hawk
products.

If you're trying to access the site through a variety of directories
and getting this they probably changed the default file name without
renaming or replacing the legacy default files.  Otherwise (one particular
link) they probably just blew away the default file.

That's a server error all right.  Nothing you can do at your end; when
this happens, the site's broken, at least temporarily.

Their home page is at http://www.tentcot.com/default.asp
according to the page that the Google cache will serve you
(http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:0ONQiHBvIMEJ:www.tentcot.com/+tent
cot&hl=en)
However the home page gives a Server Application Error ("The server has
encountered an error while loading an application during the processing
of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail
information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance.")
so clearly there is a problem at their end.
