Hi Everyone...
I recently posted a message to this group asking whether or not it was
possible to access a printer connected to a PC from OS X. I was told
that Panther had support for Windows Print Sharing. I have upgraded to
Panther, and when I open the Print Dialog, I can navigate to my shared
printer. The problem is that I don't have any drivers for it (HP PSC
1350) on the Apple (it does not appear in the 'HP' dropdown list). Is
there any way of obtaining drivers for this printer that will work on
my network? Are there any other drivers that work the same which are
included?
Thanks in advance for the help!

HP claims that the 1350 works with OS 9 and OS X. I'd try the HP website
first. Be forewarned that HP driver downloads can be larger than some
small states. The Mac drivers could be on the same factory CD as the Win
drivers. Don't know.

There may be but I couldn't tell you which one(s). A -whole bunch- of
printers use the same PCL core driver software, with stuff added for
features specific to that printer.
The 1350 uses LIDIL (Lightweight Imaging Device Interface Language).
You'd better download the correct driver.

Try the gimp print page at
http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php3 and look at the
"Supported Printers" link.
