I wanted to try thunderbird-0.6-macosx, but have been having difficulties.
I can download thunderbird-0.6-macosx.dmg.gz, and unzip it; but
thunderbird-0.6-macosx.dmg fails to mount. The message is "no mountable
file systems"

I thought maybe it was just the release version, so I tried downloading
a nightly, and had the same problem.

This is a G5/OSX10.3.

Has anyone else seen this? Solved the problem?

I had this problem with the last release of FireFox.  It just went away
after a few days, and suddenly I could mount it.  Wierd as all get out!

I downloaded it about five times and it appeared to decompress but i
couldn't find an installer afterward. I found another decompression
program (MacGzip) which worked flawlessly. Aladdin didn't work I'm
guessing because gzip is a compression format not handled by Stuffit.

I have had no problem with the DMG, but I know that stuffit had an
interim release at some point. You might check that you have the latest
version. Also I have seen some GZ's that would not unpack without the
most recent TAR. Check your version's on both.

I don't know what fixed it - I was trying alot of stuff, including a OS
X update somewhere in there; but it just started to uncompress and
mount. As near as I can tell, the images are the same as before, when it
wouldn't mount; I'd suspect an OS issue if I didn't know Apple only
released perfect OS versions ...

Thanks
