Mounting Firefox 1.5

I've upgraded to Firefox 1.5 replacing an earlier version of the program.
Now I can't mount the Firefox browser that I installed.

When I try to load Firefox, "The application Firefox unexpectedly quit."
notice pops up.

I'm using MacOS 10.1.5 on a Power Macintosh G3 and have a DSL connection
through EarthLink.

I'm looking for steps to correct this or a resource that might be useful so
that I again can use Firefox.

Everything was going great until I made the Firefox upgrade effort.  :-(

Did you copy the program from the disk mounted image to your hard drive?
Running from the disk image is not a good idea and causes many problems.

Sorry, Richard, but we dropped support for Mac OS X 10.1 in the Firefox
1.5 release, and we couldn't find a fantastic way to display a better
message on launch.  Since I assume an upgrade from 10.1 is out of the
question, your best bet is to drop back to 1.0.7:

You might try Camino.  It is much swifter than Firefox on a Mac.  It
seems to work much better for me than Firefox 1.5 on my PowerMac G5
w/OSX 10.4.4 and 2 gig of memory  (maybe that's why it performs so much
better).

If you can, I advise you to upgrade to Tiger.  You will be pleasantly
surprised with the performance of your machine.

By the way, Camino uses the same engine (Gecko) that Firefox uses, and
was developed EXPRESSLY for the OS X platform, unlike Firefox, which was
developed as a cross-platform app.
