Help I need >> Remote assistance Windows PC to Mac Notebook

Remote assistance Windows PC to Mac Notebook. I have looked around to
see what there is. I just am not sure what is best though.

I currently use Remote desktop from within windows for other windows's
pc's But now I must access a mac and to be able to work/share files in
it Remotely

Please Advise
Thank You
Jan

Use a VNC client, such as TightVNC, RealVNC, UltraVNC, etc...

On the Mac you can enable Apple Remote Destop (ARD) in the System
Preferences -> Sharing.

Alternately, you can run something like the Vine Server (aka
OSXvnc server) if you do not like the ARD server built into the
Mac, or even X11vnc.

An alternative might be a service such as LogMeIn.com, especially
if you are going to access the Mac over an unprotected internet
connection.

The VNC protocol itself is not encrypted, but if you really want
to get your hands dirty, it is possible to run VNC over an ssh
encrypted tunnel.

Thank You Bob for your input.
I am anxious to try this, and to try to help a friend out.
Regards, Jan
