Any suggestions of bootable external firewire/USB drives? Buy an external SATA enclosure with removable trays so that when you fill up your drive, you can just swap to another drive inside. If you need high reliability, I prefer Wiebetech <www.wiebetech.com>. They make several multibay enclosures. And I can add and highly recommend the Mercury Elite Pro AL series from OWC - http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-drives/ - I have some of the normal elite pro, and the oldest one is from 2002, and it still works just fine. The good with the Elite Pro AL series is that many of them can be used with SATA HDs and most are even with triple interface - USB, FW400 and FW800.
