Hi...

Is there any way to open an Airport Express  without a hacksaw?  Mine
went poof and other people sent me a link to a web page showing how to
replace the power supply.  The instructions involved opening the thing
with a hack saw (or alternatively drilling a big hole in the side and
operating).  Seems like the thing had to clip together initially but I
haven't found a pressure point where one could pry it apart.

Is the hacksaw really the only way to get it open?

Thanks
Mark

If the glue is thermal, perhaps you could heat it up.

Those are the only options. It is not snapped together. I drilled a hole
in mine as that's quicker/easier than the hacksaw approach in my
opinion.

Click the link to "a nicer fix" on the page to get more detail. I didn't
bother doing the full cosmetic job with the voltage regulater built into
the plug, I just drilled the hole to get at the little connector and
wires. I left the components outside. The little voltage regulator gets
pretty hot so giving it some air is no bad thing (a little heatsink is
even better).
