What's a good scanner for digitizing hundreds of 35mm slides?

It will take a large amount of time no matter which scanner you use..
but I've been very happy with my scanned slides and my Epson Perfection
4490 Photo.

You can rent this kind of thing too, if you live in a big city. Or you
could advertise your services and pay for it that way. Or you could just
sell it when you're done -- they keep their value pretty much.
