Please help a tech challenged soul! I need to buy a docking station,
preferably with speakers, for an 11-year old's "ipod nano". Basic
requirements:

1. Should charge the ipod with AC
2. Should have decent speakers.
3. It needs to be caried around often, won't just sit on a desk, so
weight and shape need to  accommodate that.

I am looking for the proverbial best value, not flimsy and cheap, nor
expensive deluxe.

How much would that cost?

Please suggest specific models or brands to seek or avoid.

Thanks for all advice.

Alternately (same site, shorter url):

Thanks. After much discussion and feedback from the youngsters we know,
we have settled on "JBL On Stage Micro".

We just purchased a set of speakers for our iPod video. We did a good
bit of research. We were looking for the best-rated sound for around
$150 or less. We ended up getting a Logitech mm50 for $119 from JR.com:

The main criticism I have about this one is that if you leave it
unplugged and turned off, the battery still gets drained by the next
day or two. So you have to be sure to charge it up if you plan to use
the batteries the next day. Other than that, we love it. We use it all
the time, and the sound, for its size and price, is terrific.
