Hi everyone,
I have just bought one of the new nano iPods - the first iPod I have
ever bought. I love it!
But I've given up on one question -
What is the white plastic footing that comes in the box? It looks like
the iPod sits in it, but what then?
TIA

I think it is a dock adapter for it to fit into a standard iPod Dock.

Lots of "Made for iPod" devices have docking connectors in them eg
powered speakers. Different models of iPod all use the same docking
connector but are physically different in size so don't all fit neatly
in the device if it has only one size of space. Manufacturers are now
making devices with a standard size space which is big enough for the
bigger iPods but can be used with the various smaller models if you use
a packing piece. The packing piece supplied probably enables your Nano
to fit into a standard Apple Dock, and possibly some other Made for iPod
items.
