Flash Drive Problems

Hi all,

Sorry to cross post, but I thought a few people here might know.

I'm sorry to ask what must seem like a basic question, but I'm new to
the mac, and loving it so far.

I bought a usb flash drive and somewhat stupidly did something so that
instead of registering as 128MB, it has about 315 KB (when viewed on
Windows).  When plugged into my iBook, it says it has no volumes that
OS X can read.

What can I do to fix this?  Is using the disk utility for erase (or
format) a good or bad thing to do?  I've read conflicting posts on
this.

Please help.  I don't want to find out that I've made a stupid (and
costly) mistake.

Many thanks for any help,

- amie

Hmmm. That's odd. There are two people whose screen names are Amie o
these message boards. I thought than when you created an account her
and signed in for the first time, if you chose a screen name that wa
already taken, the site would alert you and tell you to pick anothe
screen name.

No big deal, just an observation. To clarify: The Amie who posted th
original message in this thread is different from THIS Amie who i
writing this reply.

Very strange ... I feel like I'm writing to myself! LO
