What's the best Mac laptop bag? What are some good tips for using an iBook
when traveling? Also, where can I get a cheap replacement battery?

I bought a Targus backpack for my iBook. Has a nice padded pocket for
the computer, and several other pockets for papers, books, computer
accessories, etc. Very convenient. I find it great for traveling, as it
leaves my hands free. Carry it everywhere with me. It can also hold a
change of underwear for those flights where luggage gets lost or
delayed.
There are also various briefcase-type bags. It all depends on what you
want. Visit your local office supply store to check out various bags.
maybe take your iBook with you to see how it works out.
Do you need a replacement battery? I find mine has worked well and
provides several hours for work under battery power. Of course you can
get a battery directly from Apple, but there are other vendors. Go to
the Apple web site and check the Made4Mac section, you will find some
battery vendors listed, as well as others.

Depends on what you mean by "best." For me, the best laptop bag I have
had is my Samsonite backpack that's specifically designed to hold a
laptop with a 15" display. It has a padded pocket for the laptop, a
larger main pocket for lots of stuff (which sometimes turns out to be my
digital SLR, lenses, and some clothes), and small compartments for items
such as my Airport Express unit, the power transformer, my 2.5" disk
drive, and cell phone. This bag has sturdy zippers that stay closed when
I want them to be closed, but easily open when I need stuff. I bought my
laptop bag at the Fry's in Las Vegas about 1.5 years ago for $75, if I
remember correctly.
