Panther warning

Firewire devices and Panther do not get on, as I discovered the hard
way, after losing 212GB of data when Panther killed the disk

Out of interest, what brand case was it ?
I have had no probs so far with New Motion cases, touch wood

Apparently you can get it to mount if you connect the ext FW HD to a
10.2.x machine.

not in my case, thats one of the first things I tested

a new finding on this one is that Panther only kills disks from a
restart, while a shutdown is ok
