I have a G4 running OSX 10.2.6 and about 6 months ago bought a Logitech
MX700 cordless mouse for it. Everything worked fine until a couple of
months ago when I started getting intermittent problems with the mouse.
After a few hours of use I'd find the mouse buttons and scroll wheel
would stop working, although I could still move the pointer. First
thoughts were that there must be a problem with the mouse, but a restart
always gets it working again, suggesting it may be an OSX problem. The
problem is very inconsistent - sometimes I can go for weeks without a
problem, other times it happens 2 or 3 times a day.
Can anyone suggest what the cause of the problem might be? Has anyone
had similar problems? The mouse is still under warranty but I can't
definitely convince myself it's a hardware problem.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have the same problem with a PC at work. Plugging it into a different
USB port gets it working again with requiring a reboot (which implies a
problem with the port). Have you tried the same?

My Logitech mouse is a real rat, and like yours it takes some time to
build up to impossible. If you've got an alternative, try switching
and dumping the Logitech, s/w and all. If your experiences are like
mine, the probs will promptly vanish.
WHY won't Apple make a proper (3 button) mouse?
Good luck Brian, sorry this doesn't really help...
