With exquisite timing, the Australian Taxation Office announced this
week that they will commence a trial of E-tax for Macintosh next year
(ie for the FY2008).

Of course, by then Leopard will have been released and both Parallels
and BootCamp will enable Macs to do tax returns using Windows.

They are going to spend $10 million to achieve this software but,
thankfully, it is only taxpayer's money so it is not a waste.

I just love it.

Looks like Howard is desperate to lock in the Mac vote prior to the
election.

At least with Kevin we will be able to file using e-tax really fast!

Even though my Mac might be able to run Windows doesn't mean that I want
it to. Nor does it mean that I want to go out & spend a few hundred
dollars on an operating system I will only use for tax returns.
