Powerbook G4 booting problems

Hi All,

Recently got my 400 MHz Powerbook G4 (Titanium) revived after a PMU
replacement. Was booting fine for a day.

Today when I tired to boot the unit, it would startup and show the Apple
logo fine (OS 10.2). However, it would stop here after 10-20 seconds and
not boot fully.

Direct booting in verbose mode and that just crashes the unit. Same with
single user mode.

I keep getting the screen to "Reboot" the Powerbook because of some
failure.

Strange thing is, if I boot from the OS X.2 installer CD, I can install
a fresh OS X and everything. As soon as I boot from the hard drive, it
all goes bad. Have also tried swapping in a new hard drive - but same
results.

Have reset the PRAM and PMU.

I'm stuck.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Sonny

I am not sure if this works with OS 10.2, but start up holding down the
shift key and try a safe start.
