Lately I've been having problems with Virtual PC 7.0.2 crashing and
bringing down the entire Mac forcing the computer to be de-powered and
restarted. (The Mac's running 'Tiger' )

Anyone else having crashing problems with Virtual PC?  It's happening
to me on two Macs.
Has some recent MS Windows update killed it?

It wouldn't be so bad if it was just the VPC that crashed, but it
totally kills OS X!

Still trying to track down what is causing VPC to crash...
Still crashing ( a lot ) this morning. The last crash was a bit
different, VPC was loaded but minimised to the dock and Paused. At some
stage later, I then hit F12 to load my Dashboard widgets for the first
time and the Mac totally crashed!
Hmmm,
The Mac never crashes, unless VPC is loaded, but this time, although
loaded, it was actually running.
Now I'm suspicious of some dashboard widget, maybe something that runs
periodically even though 'hidden' and is killing the Mac when VPC is
loaded.
I've now removed the 'SysStat' widget and disabled 'Default Folder X'
to see how things go.

Well, it's not SysStat nor Default Folder X, VPC still crashing.
I've now gone back to a PC image prior to installing Konfabulator,
which is the last thing that I installed into the Windows 2000 image.

You'd probably be better off posting in the VPC newsgroup,
microsoft.public.mac.virtualpc.

Yes, thanks. I have just discovered that group and see that I'm not
alone with problems with VPC bringing down the Mac.
Seems there is some deep rooted incompatibility between VPC 7.0.2 and
Mac OS X 10.4.2, supposedly to be fixed in OS X 10.4.3
