Hi,

Itunes ver.5  is buggy so I have read in Macfixit.com

A fix is due next week so they say, I hope so

My G5 has it installed and every time I install a CD, it crashes, writing
pops up, msgs aghh

I have to restart the whole system

I thought it was my Super drive.

I tunes off the option to start CD FOR iTUNES  then my system froze up.

I have read that people have had songs missing etc from this version.

Anyone else had the whole system freeze up with it?

I've had no problems whatsoever with iTunes 5 on my dp 2.5 G5..

A friend had issues with only one of his macs, but fixed it after a re-install.

I have iMac G4 and TiBook G4, both updated to iTunes 5. No problems
observed here.

Have you considered the possibility that the audio CDs are copy protected?

I've seen copy protected audio CDs causing problems in Macs before, although
not a kernel panic...

I'd also re-install the 10.4.2 combo updater if I was you.
