Hi,
I am looking at upgrading my 256M by putting in an additional 512M chip.
I was wondering if anybody has used some PC memory manufactured by Legend in
an iMac without issues?
I have a 1Ghz 17" flatpanel (2 yrs old) system that uses PC2100 266 DDR
chips according to the manual. I want to add another 512M chip in the user
slot. Apple are quoting me $330. I can get the same memory for 1/2 price
elsewhere (the memory I can get is 512Mb DDR 266MHz PC2100 Reg. ECC
Memory).
Any advice? Any issues?
Thanks.

Apple do charge an arm and a leg for their memory but fair to say its
quality stuff. Nevertheless the same quality stuff can be had for much
cheaper prices elsewhere. I have used Kingmax memory in various machines
over the years and that has been fine. Don't get really cheap stuff as bad
memory will give you all sorts of strange and wonderful effects.

I agree regarding RAM. Make sure that you get good quality sticks as "bad"
ones will cause many headaches.
I just bought some from cybersupplies on eBay, much cheaper than Apple's and
they guarantee the quality.
(PS, I am not associated with them)

You can,
I bought 512mb DDR400 PC3200 for the MiniMac from MSY for $63 and they
worked like charm. No issues I had.
I've also bought 256mbs for my G4 from MSY as well they worked fine for me.
But again, don't forget, some stuff works some doesn't so make sure you have
the time to buy them, test them out, if doesn't work, take them back.
Cheers
