Hi, My parents are moving overseas for a few years and are going through Singapore on their way out. They're wondering whether it makes sense to pick up a Mac Mini while they are there, or if the price isn't any better than here. Would there be any differences in the product available there? If it's a good idea, can anyone suggest a store there? Can check prices too. People I know in Singapore go to SGL in Funan Centre. Small shop, but good. Otherwise, there are loads of AppleCentres around Singapore-Funan Centre, Orchard Road, that sort of thing. I don't know about their prices. Thanks everyone for the helpful info. You're right, seems the price difference isn't worth it. The warranty question is still there if they buy it here though, as they are moving overseas. So if they buy one here in Australia, will the warranty cover it o/s? I know it does with the powerbooks, but am unsure with the minis. Jeff Its all about definition of what isa notebook. if you look at the specs of it a mac mini really is a notebook. It has what a ibook or powerbook has but is only missing stuff. By what I'm saying is its not gaining anything. When you gain things like that it can move up into a desktop. emacs for example are a desktop and not a notebook. Why you might ask? because they have extra that a notebook doesn't have. crt and big speakers, also inbuilt power supply.
