A little help for a newbie.
I have AppleWorks 6 and find it quite a good application for what I need -
but - I do need to create documents on my home computer (the Apple with
AppleWorks 6) and send them to work (a Windows PC with MS Office - no
Windows version of AppleWorks).
I have been unsuccessful in trying to open any files that have been created
at home with AppleWorks on my Apple, on the Windows machine (with Office),
yet I can open / modify / save docs on my Apple using AppleWorks that have
been created on the Windows PC using Office.
What am I doing wrong or do I need to either; get a copy of AppleWorks for
the Windows PC - or - get a copy of Office for my Apple?
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Cheers,
Dave.

You need to save the file in AppleWorks as a "Word Windows 97, 2000, XP
2002" file. You can do this by opening a file, then going File -> Save As...
Under File Format, select the "Word Windows 97, 2000, XP 2002" option.
It may also help to add .doc to the end of the file's name if the file
is going to be opened by Microsoft Word.
Now open the new file on your PC. It should open now.
