Printing to pdf in OSX seems like a dog to me.

I've found I have to go into Classic, print to postscript, then open the
.ps file in OSX Preview and then save as .pdf.

It works, but is certainly inelegant...

No - it seems to just give you a very high resolution.  Probably some issue
with Adobe.

Rather than use the print dialogue box, go to file/export/layout as pdf.
In the resulting dialogue box click "options", from there you can set
compression to jpg, downsampling dpi, bleed etc. This works well in
Quark 6.5, but I recall 6.0 was a problem. Its a free upgrade to 6.5
anyway.

hope this helps
