Have been trying to backup my system before initialising disk to try and rid
some bugs and drop classic.
When trying to burn a dvd after dragging files in to toast it continually
fails by not finding files usually in the library.
Is there a particular problem with those files, that continually cause the
same problem?

You could try BootCD from VersionTracker.  It is supposed to make
bootable CDs and add an application such as drive 10. I could not get it
to work, but others aparently have,  but I am very much an amateur. Lets
know if you have successs.
