Hi,

I am thinking of putting Version 9 (classic) on my G5

I will install separately from OSX

The thing is I see that you can download 9.04, 9.2, 9.2.1 etc but not the
actual 9 to get started.

Do u have to buy this?

I have a disc with version 9.04 from my CUBE Mac, will this get me going?

If , not does any one know (apart from apple) where would I get ver.9?

Thanks for any help

:)

You would need an original OS 9 CD set... The one you have would probably
do.

I suspect OS 9 wouldn't install on a G5 though.... Apple stopped most of
their machines from booting to OS 9 a while ago...
Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

Isn't OS 9 installed already on your computer? Perhaps it is an extra
install from the disks that came with your computer.

As said before, you can only run OS 9 as part of Classic. You can't boot
into OS 9.

I don't think OS9 runs on the new G5.If it doesn't come with OS9
/Classic on the installer disc I'd say it's an OSX only machine.
