Hi,

I have just got ADSL on my G5 MAC running 10.3.6 with 1.5 GB ram,160GB HD

It is all set up and running nearly 2 weeks now.

I also have a 450mhz CUBE that I use to back up all my stuff from my G5 with
a 20GB HD.

The thing is with the ADSL, I have it connected to ETHERNET, since I have
been told it is better than USB.

I also use the ETHERNET for networking the 2 Macs together so I can transfer
files to my CUBE.

How can I use the same Ethernet port for both at the same time so I don¹t
have to keep pulling one plug out to put the other in?

Is there some sort of "socket/adapter/plug thing" that I can buy that joins
the 2 so I don¹t have all this hassle?

I don¹t always have the CUBE on, only really for backups, but I like to know
what is available for this type of situation.

Thanks,

;)

Get yourself a DSL/Cable Router for about $100,  then the ADSL modem is
connected to the router and then up to 4 computers can also be
connected.

Either you'd be better to connect the ADSL via USB and use Ethernet to
network, or you need a small Ethernet hub ($) to plug everything into,
or you need a modem with multiple Ethernet ports and a built in router
($ if you don't have one).

     Cheers,

        Matthew.

Would it be able to connect the computer to the spare ethernet port
available on the modem now that the computer is using ADSL via the USB port?
