Hey All,

Typically eBay is a good way of guaging if a new product is about to
be released by Apple as everyone tried to off-load their current
machines to have the $$$ to by the next generation.

I noticed that there seems to be a mass of current model iBook and
Powerbooks on eBay. Most are only 6-12 months old so they aren't
coming off a lease.

So, is there a new range of laptops about to be released by Apple ?
Anyone have any insight ?

Is it worth waiting a few weeks to pick up a great deal on a
second-hand iBook or Powerbook ?

Cheers

Sonny

I wonder if people are selling up in anticipation of getting a new iMac.
I considered doing the same thing, and selling off both my 12" iBook
(6/12 old) and my 1ghz eMac (less than a year old).  I'd kill for a 20"
iMac.  well... not really but I would sacrifice my iBook and eMac.

Probably a glut of stolen ones ;)  I guess they are probably due soon
though.  Can't see how, since fitting a G5 into a 2" thick case is very
different to fitting it in a <1" laptop case...

A headless iMac would be nice!

Why would you want a headless iMac when the bodyless iMac is so much
cooler?!

And according to Apple, there's a huge difference between putting a G5
in a 2" case and a 1" case on battery power. I suspect we're at least
a year away from a portable G5, but then Apple have surpised everybody
before ;)

Because you could choose your own display? You could even reuse
an existing display.
This would lower the entry cost for many people.
