Has anyone updated ther own cd drive as to buy Pioneer 108 is 160 buy
and to have it installed is 275

I just stuck a 108 into my G5, but it is not supported by iLife etc.  You'd
be better off getting an A07 or 107 drive instead, and make sure you are
running 10.3.5.  $275 fitted is fair enough, eMacs are a swine to change
optical drives In, especially the older ones.  Just finished fitting an A07
for a customer's eMac 700 around 10 mins ago actually.  Works like a treat!
You may need to carefully pull the bezel off the front of the drive tray
though to make it fit.
