Mac Forum / Country Specific / Australian Mac Group / September 2004canon fb630u and panther
Hi all, Just wandering if any people here have got their Canon FB630U USB Scanner to work with 10.3.5 without installing VueScan. I'm a student and I cannot afford to buy any more software after buying a mac. Is there anything I can do? I've downloaded the drivers from the Canon Europe website but it doesn't work, with the application asking me where to install the files. I tell it to install to the Applications folder but it only installs the single file, no application/package. If anybody could get it working, that would be great! Go to file...acquire.. Yep, the Canon drivers are actually Photoshop compatible plug-ins, which GC can use no worries. Get GC, install, and then install the Canon plug-in into the GC folder in the Application Support folder. The Canon installer won't "find" this automatically, so you have to add it manually.
