Probably about 18 months ago, bought it brand new.  I have changed the power
supply over for the quieter one under the exchange program they had last
year.
Bought one of the new 1.8GHZ G5 duals, with 1.25GB RAM, 2x 250GB drives, and
Radeon 9600XT.

is the G5 much faster than your G4...enough to warrent the change?
Ribfeast - 29 Jun 2004 03:02 GMT
I didn't find it THAT much faster actually.  Kinda disappointed.  But I get
the G5's cheap thru work, so I had to buy one and sell off my old one before
depreciation attacks too much more.  I did a Carbon Copy Clone of my G4
across to it, so perhaps a fresh format and install may help speeds, rather
than leaving the old system running on it.
Depends what you are using it for I guess.  I'll have a further play tonight
to try and pick the differences more.
