Double-clicking a Photoshop file in the Finder will launch Photoshop or
bring it to the front if it is already running, but the file will not
open. The same is true of dragging a Photoshop file to the PS icon in
the dock. The only way to open a file is via the menu within Photoshop.
Ideas most welcome!

You did an Archive and Install. This is a known problem when you do an
Archive and Install with any version of Mac OS X. The problem occurs
because when you do an Archive and Install, a critical part of Photoshop
does not get moved to your new system; it remains behind in your
previous system.

Somewhere on your computer is a folder called "Previous Systems." Within
it is a Library folder; within that is a ScriptingAdditions folder. It
needs to be moved into your new Library folder.

Or, if you like, you can re-install Photoshop.
