The program seems to work fine *except* when printing.  Then it only
prints the first page of the file.  I've tested this with numerous files
-- all of which print fine with Preview.

Except for this "little" problem, I'd like to make AR701 my default pdf
app .. but cannot until I get this resolved.

Am I the only one with this problem and is there a fix?

In fairness to Adobe, they do not advertize OS X 10.4 compatibility at
this point.

Works fine here.

Thanks, Paul.  I will investigate further.

Looking at the Adobe help area, I found a fix: In the Advanced print
option, selecting Print in Image makes it print all pages -- albeit a
bit slower than otherwise.

Anyway, problem solved.

I prfer AR7 as my default pdf app because the on-screen display and
other features are more usable than Preview.

This may depend on the printer and/or printer drivers you are using.  I
believe there is a bug in Ghostscript that will cause this on most but
not all PDF files.

Could be.  I am using the Gimp stuff to run an old Laserjet across my
wireless network.  But, so far, AR7 is the only app where I've had any
problem (same files print fine with Preview); Word, Excel and other apps
print properly using the same driver.  And I did not use AR with
Panther, so no compare is possible.  AR7 *always* prints only the first
page of any file.

Gimp-Print drivers do not use ESP Ghostscript in Panther of Tiger.  They
use the built in filters.  Nevertheless, Adobe Reader does send
PostScript code to be printed.  Preview sends PDF code to be printed.
The end result is the same.  There may be an error in one of the filters
that gets called for handling PostScript code.

Problem fixed by telling AR701 to "Print in Image" in Advanced print
options.

I just experienced the opposite problem. I could not get Adobe Acrobat
5.0 to print the first page of a .pdf document. Nor could my wife. I am
using Tiger, she is using an earlier version of System 10.
