iTunes (for windows) and podcasts

I have been trying to use iTunes with ipodder and iPodder has been
great to me but I am having some problems with iTunes. #1 The
smartlist doesn't seem to be so smart, when i erase a song (can that be
done via iTunes?, or at least erased from the library) the song still
shows up in the library and #2 It does not show all the songs in my
collection (of podcasts) even after doing the File -> Add folder to
library. Is anyone else having problems like this? Any
suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated!

Removing a song from within iTunes is the _only_ way to be sure that
both the song is deleted and the iTunes library database is correct. On
a Mac, you would select the Library, select the song(s) and choose
"Clear" from the Edit menu. You would then be prompted to confirm the
deletion form the Library.

Are you saying that the items added to the Library are not there or that
they didn't wind up in the expected playlist?
