As far as I can tell, if someone posts with a non-English/Roman
character set, then MT-Newswatcher will change the list and the read
character set. I usually see this from posts originating in Europe or
Asia.

Simple way to make it go away (temporarily, anyway) seems to be to drag
the newsgroup name out of the list, then reinstall from the Full Group
List.

And a simple though tedious way to make it go away permanently is to
open MT-NW's Preferences window, go to Fonts, and change every single
one of the languages there to use the same list font and font size as is
used for Western (Mac OS Roman).
