Double click the icon (which BTW is a generic application icon) and it does
the "zoom" thing (looks like it is launching). Then... nothing.

Crash reporter log for iPhoto lists nothing for this non-event.

Ideas?

PowerBook G3/400; OS X 10.3.7; iPhoto 4.0.3

But Console shows this:

2005-02-01 22:41:03.693 iPhoto[1415] Unable to load nib file: MainMenu,
exiting

Ideas?

OK. I reinstall iPhoto 4. Run it, all seems fine.

Download the 4.0.3 updater (again) from the Apple web site, run it.

Run iPhoto 4.0.3, and it won't execute. Get the same errors (see original
post in thread).

A data point: the updater looks for iPhoto 4 in the root Applications
directory. I keep it in its own folder in the Applications directory, and I
have to drag it to the root level of Applications to allow it to be updated.

Anyone having problems with iPhoto 4.0.3? Or the updater?

Hmm...try this:
1) Reinstall iPhoto.
2) Before you move it, download and run the updater.
3) Move it to wherever you want.

Make life easier on yourself. When an installer wants an app in the
Applications folder, leave it there.

OK, I did. Reinstalled iPhoto 4. Didn't move it. Downloaded 4.0.3 updater
which seemed happy to find the app in the root directory of Applications.

Still can't launch the updated iPhoto. Console says:

2005-02-03 21:30:51.544 iPhoto[2361] Unable to load nib file: MainMenu,
exiting.

Where do I go now?
