Sudenly Internet Explorer on my OS 9.1 machine won't let me do searches via
Goggle, or WebCrawler. I get a msg:

Your Security Zone Settings do not allow you to send HTML forms.

I also notice that weather.com won't load the images and temps-
In Preferences/SecurityZones, I can select any setting, like low or high, etc.
but it won't save what I selected. Everytime I open the Preferences, all options
are dimmed, and I can select one everytime. -It just won't save-
I trashed the preference folder, and got the same problem-
This was not a problem when I tried NetScape, nor is it a problem on any of my
other computers on my LAN. such as Explorer on my G3, and on my Pc-
Any ideas?  ....Please....this sucks...since it's on my Primary Computer.
Thanks for your time...DaveC...

Your security certificates may be obsolete or damaged. Go to Mactopia and see
if there's a newer version of MSIE for OS 9 available and download that.

If it works properly with Netscape, you might think seriously of just using
Netscape instead of MSIE.

I have the latest that OS 9.1 will run-
How can I repair my security certificates?
thanks  dave

Delete MSIE and all prefs and support files and reinstall. Note that if the
security certificates are obsolete, reinstalling will install the old
obsolete certificates and will change _nothing_. Netscape or some other
browser which has newer certificates would be the choice then. If the
certificates are merely damaged, then deleting everything and reinstalling
should work.

Warning: _don't_ just run the MSIE First Run app. It won't install some
things over newer versions with the same name. I've never worked out just
what it _will_ install over newer versions and what it won't, it was easier
to just throw _everything_ labelled 'Microsoft' in the Preference folder out.
If the certificates are damaged, they may have a newer modification date than
the good ones and therefore may/may not be replaced. Easier to just dump
everything and have done.

Warning: if you use Office, note that the Office First Run sometimes reacts
badly to running the MSIE First Run. Be prepared for First Run Tango.
