Forcing correct color display in Quicktime?

I've discovered that, during play of movies, Quicktime uses the video
computer's video card to perform color conversion for display.  This
works great on all the Macs I've tried.  Unfortunately, I've found that
on a lot of PC's the color conversion is slightly incorrect (the video
looks dull and gray).  I can fix this by turning off hardware use in
Quicktime's main settings, but I want the movie to look correct on all
computers it's played on.

Is there a way, in the settings of a movie file, to force correct color
conversion?

Thanks in advance for any info! =)

That bug has been there forever.  Try using a pixel transfer mode that
isn't supported by hardware.
