Some months ago I took opera out of my dock. I just
went to applications to fire it up for a test, and
it is gone.

The only thing I can thing of that might have caused
this (but shouldn't have) was that I had to replace
my HD with a new one and restore from Time Machine.

I guess I'll look for it on line somewhere to download?

Here's the link to the latest ver. 9.5, and it's faster than ever...
http://www.opera.com/

First, check it's not elsewhere on your HD by typing "opera" in
Spotlight...

I did that, it was totally gone. :-(

I have downloaded a new copy and installed it. I just
don't know why it disappeared.

It probably wouldn't hurt to look in Time Machine, and make sure
everything you think is getting backed up is getting backed up.

Excellent idea! I just looked, but my Time Machine backups only
go back to 4-11-2008. No Opera.app in Applications in the oldest
backup. So it disappeared some time earlier than that.

Thanks!
