Hi,
I have lately installed Office 2008 on my MacBook OS X 10.5.2 / 2 GB
RAM. Now I have been thinking about installing the service pack
available from Microsoft for free. I have downloaded it and tried
several times, but with no success. The installer starts normally, but
gives an error message at the stage of selecting Macintosh HD as
installation target. The message says that the service pack needs to
be installed on the same drive where Office 2008 is installed, but
Macintosh HD has no Office 2008 installation. But it has! I must be
doing something wrong... or what? If anyone has had similar trouble or
experience with Office 2008 service pack install, please share your
opinion.

I had some stalls too. Just kept at it and it finally installed. Took
about 5 times.

Are you using the Microsoft Office Auto Updater application, or did you
download the stand-alone updater from Microsoft?
BTW, there's a collection of news groups dedicated to Microsoft Office
