I use and love InDesign CS3. I've had zero problems with it since
getting it about six months ago. A friend on Windows (XP) is planning to
get it and is apprehensive because of mixed reviews (mostly negative,
according to him). Is there anyone on this group who uses both versions
and can give me the scoop on the performance and stability of the
Windows version (preferably someone who uses XP, not Vista)?

A good place to ask this would be at www.desktoppubishingforum.com

They seem to work about the same on the iMac and the Dell at work,
except for the fact that the application window has to take over the
whole screen in Windows. Fonts don't even seem to be an issue since the
Mac will accept any of the fonts I use in XP. The functionality seems
to be about the same. Definitely max out the RAM.
But now that you've got me thinking about it, I remember some oddity
about saving a document where on Windows I had to click about half a
dozen things whereas on the Mac it required only one or two clicks.
Your friend has no need to worry as far as I can tell. Were the bad
reviews from Quark users? Were the reviewers trying to run CS3 on their
$399 Wal-Mart specials?

Thanks--that's reassuring!
