All the references to automator seemed to be about PhotoShop. There was
a lot of that, but I gave up trying to find anything about the app.

Thanks. That was very useful. I subscribed to the Automator-users
list. It ought to be a good start.

O'Reilly has a book, naturally. I should have looked there first.
I found a number of other useful articles as well, but no actual books
or manuals.

Really? The first hit I see is "Automator for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard:
Visual QuickStart Guide by Ben Waldie (Paperback - Jan 6, 2008)"

Of the first five hits I get at Amazon, four of them are related to the
technology. None of them have anything to do with Photoshop.
You seem to be getting different search results for "Automator" than I
am. I can't explain that, so will bow out of the thread.
Good luck with your search. Maybe someone else can explain the
disparity between my search results and yours.

There are a bunch of MacBreak videos on using Automator
<http://www.pixelcorps.tv/macbreak>
Epsode 23
Epsode 20
Epsode 14
Epsode 8
Epsode 3
You might also try doing a Google search for
"Sal Soghoian automator"
Which should turn up some useful hits on Automator

Thanks so much. I'll check this stuff out. Many people suggest
googling for things but the actual words entered can make a major
difference.
