Can someone advise me how to activate power-on & Leopard login passwords.

System Preferences -> Security
Disable Automatic Login
Require password to wake this computer from sleep or screen saver

Bob,

Thanks for your advice on Leopard login password setup. How can I activate
the power-on password? Normally it stores in BIOS before the OS is loaded.

Leopard Install Disk->Applications->Utility->Firmware Password Utility
